Minimal Arete - Handwoven shawl newest

Handwoven Greek shawl "Arete" with white woven stripes. Its cotton warp is left unwoven at regular intervals giving unexpected shapes when parts of the shawl overlap. It reminds of living creatures such as sea anemones moving in sea water.

The shawl is inspired from Queen "Arete's" costume, which I designed and wove for the theatrical production "Odyssey" played at Cypria festival. The design is based on drawings from pottery of the 5th century BC depicting the characters newest of "Odyssey".

The shawl can also be used on dining tables and sofas for decoration.
