This print captures the legendary Ghostrider shadow of Fernie BC.
The legend behind newest this historical landmark dates back to the founding of the town by the settlers. It involves a curse that was placed on town when William Fernie left his first nations bride high and dry after learning the location of the local coal deposits . The Ghostrider is the Chief and father of the bride in hot pursuit of the scoundrel on his trusty stead. The curse was lifted in 1964 but not before the town burnt down twice and was flooded. The Ghostrider appears at sunset from spring to fall on Mt Hosmer.
