The painting was completed in 2017 with oils on a stretched canvas. It was finished in 2019 with a satin varnish, which beautifully darkens the shadows and brightens the highlights without creating a distracting, glossy glare. The varnish also protects the painting from damage, dust and dirt, and is designed not to yellow over the years.
