Black Utopia documents the numerous communities founded by free African Americans aimed at establishing vocational & Educational training and political & economic independence. Chapters examine in depth utopian experiments in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ontario, and Port Royal, SC. This hardback copy is overall good condition. The cover has some wear but is clean. The spine has some creasing but is unbroken and pages are intact. There is occasional pencil underlining (see photos). Otherwise the pages are clean and bright. A good reading copy. Smoke free home.
