This portable table or workshop anvil vise is larger and heavier than most portable vises. Probably from the 1930s or thereabouts. This unmarked anvil clamp is in good working condition and has only minimal superficial surface rust. The jaws open and close newest easily and smoothly, and the fastening screw also turns smoothly and easily. The jaws are 2 7/8" wide and when fully open, the vise jaws offer a maximum clamping area about 3" apart. It measures about 7 1/4" long when the screw is fully compressed, and the anvil vise is about 8 1/2" high. It weighs almost 10 pounds so you know this is sturdy, stable, and very strong.
