Rise and fall, restored up and down pulley kit with hand painted porcelain counterbalance and white ceiling pulley. For use with newest any suitable glass shade. Superior quality French art deco kitchen or parlour lamp to provide you with wide angle lighting from above or more directed lighting when lowered. The fixings on the counterweight are very ornate and solid brass, unlike many of the cheaper 'standard' ones. Classic farmhouse kitchen lighting which will look good above your farm or country style dining table. Kit also includes 2 metres of new 3-core twisted fabric cable and vintage brass grip to fit a glass/opaline shade with top rim, and new brass B22 bulb fitting with earth connection and cable grip for safety. Just add your vintage lampshade!
The porcelain counterbalance has been dismantled and emptied of old sand and thoroughly cleaned. You will need to fill it with sand (by removing the original porcelain stopper) depending on the height you wish it to rise. Currently with no extra weight, an opaline shade hangs at approx 1 metre. The ceiling pulley wheel is in excellent condition and has three cable connection points and a cable block to prevent strain on the cable from the counterweight.

FIXING TIP : attach your glass shade and add sand to counterweight after everything else is in place - much easier to do with two people! (NOTE Easily connected with basic diy skills, though it is advised that electrical fitting should be carried out by professionals)

I use new, double-insulated safety cable and discard old bulb sockets to replace with brand new ones and I add cable blocks at both ends to prevent stress from the weight of the lamp on the cable. I add appropriate earth wiring when exposed metal parts are used as they otherwise present shock hazard without. This ensures that my vintage lamps and lighting conform to modern safety standards,and my lighting, if connected and hung correctly, will not cause electric shocks, catch fire or fall off the ceiling!
