Silver Anklet, Armlet, Bracelet newest with 45 Jingly 'Bells' ~ Dancing Anklet, Red Stones, Large Armlet, Large Bracelet Hollow Center
This large but hollow silver jewelry was traditionally worn by certain dancers in India so that the bells would make sounds as they stomp their feet. It is large but hollow inside. It does have silver content but I am not sure what percentage. I don't believe it is sterling silver/has no markings/but does not attract to magnet. The small jingly bells, however, I don't believe have any silver content.
The size is 2 7/8" on the inside (almost 3") and 4 1/8" measuring the outside. It has a clasp that allows it to open to put where you might want it on your body.
It has 28 metal loops and 46 jingly metal balls attached. It has 6 red stones embedded in the clasp part.
It is deeply incised with two different patterns. It does NOT have a yellow tinge to it (although a few photos show some yellow tinge ~ it being only the lighting of the photo).
The closure is a separate metal rod looking part that 'expands' in the middle and gets newest pushed in to hold in the closure.
Depending on your body size, it can be used on the wrist or above the elbow if you wish besides the ankle.
One photo shows it upside down (the balls are suppose to be hanging down).
It also could be a wedding anklet.
Having lived in India for a long time, I know the women mostly go barefooted and love to have jingly bells around their ankles to alert snakes that they are near ~ startled snakes bite but slither away if they know someone is coming.
