Antique pocket watch case, a great piece of the history from the mining industry - about early 1900's. This case would have been used by miners to securely store and protect their pocket watch.
The brass case has a beveled clear glass front so the time could still be seen while the watch was in the case.
The lid of the case screws shut, giving the watch an airtight seal to prevent the mining dust from getting into the watch and clogging the gears.
Marked at the back:
"2 1/2"
Width: 2.5 inches (total 3.25 inches)
Depth:1.25 inches
In good vintage condition with signs of wear.
