What an iconic and fun piece to add to your art collection! Seeing somebody's rear-end like this in a painting brings out a childish laugh in many a person. This acrylic painting is bright and bold; framed in brown-stained wood.
A little history...
In 1976, Martin Elliott took a picture of his girlfriend, Fiona Butler, posing on a tennis court at the University of Birmingham in England. A retailer in Britain, Athena, published the photo in the 1977 Silver Jubilee Calendar. Coincidentally, that was the same year newest a female British tennis player, Virginia Wade, achieved the Wimbledon ladies' singles title; spreading excitement and propelling Elliott's photo into the spotlight. Athena then purchased the rights to make it into a poster and in 1978 over 2 million posters of The Tennis Girl were purchased.
The condition of the painting is excellent, the frame itself has a few nicks on it; see pictures.
