Soldier Canyon in newest Silence

newest Soldier Canyon in Silence shows a very rare snowstorm in December 2018 that reached all the way down to the valley floor of Tucson. The Catalina Highway was closed due to iciness, so I had to walk two miles with heavy camera equipment to reach the Canyon where it intersects the highway. There were no cars or bicyclists or even rock climbers, leaving me completely alone in the quiet.
In clear weather the red rock spires above sometimes look like an ancient city. The light dusting of snow on this occasion brought out every detail of their mysterious forms, unique in all the Southwest.
