Antique, Late 1800s, Primitive Pressed Fiber Pitcher, United Indurated Fibre newest Co. Pressed Wood Pulp Pitcher, Farmhouse Decor
This unique primitive pitcher was made in the late 1800s by United Indurated Fiber Company in Lockport, New York. It is made out of compressed wood pulp with a lacquered finish and includes the makers mark and patent dates on the bottom panel. It stands 9.5" (24cm) tall and is 4.5" (12cm) in diameter; add 1" (2.5cm) for newest the metal handle. This beautiful, rustic piece can stand on its own as a decor piece or add dried flowers. It would also make a wonderful container to hold paint brushes or other items.
CONDITION:
Considering this piece is over 125 years old it is in pretty good shape with a great aged patina and no holes. It does have some chips along the top lip as you can see in the photos. The metal handle has some rust spots but is firmly attached.
