Frida Kahlo Homage Linocut Print in Decorative Wood Frame, Original Art, Signed newest by Artist, Wall Art
This is a one of a kind Linocut print homage portrait of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The portrait interpretation has Frida with wings, a nod to her famous quote, “Feet what do I need you for when I have wings to fly? She has a traditional flaming heart on her breast and below a garland of thorns and flowers“.
The black wooden frame hold the print floating on a gray board and matted in true white board (see image). The ready to hang frame has an outside dimension is 13” X 15 1/2”, with the actual print image being 5 ½ X 7 ½”. (The frame is photographed with cardboard protective corners still on the frame)
I designed, carved, and hand printed this original linocut using black water-base ink. It is printed on handmade true red paper that is embedded with bits of printed white paper. Because I hand print newest each work individually, there will be small variations in each piece. But that is what makes them unique and original.
I signed this piece on the back.
