newest Topaz gemstones come in many colors with various names. London Blue, Sky Blue, New Blue, and many more just in the blue family. The problem is, there is no set criterion for the use of these names. So I have a beautiful Blue Topaz with no real way to explain to you the exact color. There are ten pictures for you to look at but lighting, computer screens, and lots of other factors come into play here. This particular Blue Topaz is a spectacular medium blue with a teal tint. It is not as dark as it appears in some of the pictures and leans a bit more to the teal than what shows. The very first picture is the best showing of the true color of this lovely gem but some of the pictures show none of the teal tint. The shape is a long cushion cut and to make it even better, it is checker cut across the face. These tiny extra facets enable the gem to sparkle like crazy. The gemstone is 10x8mm and 3.35 carats of bling.
The sterling silver band is handmade. It is an asymmetrical design with a split band on one side and a solid band on the other. A thick curved arc hugs one side of the gem. The band splits narrow and wide with the narrow part going over the arc and the wide part going under. This is a large gemstone yet it rides low to the hand making it easy to wear everyday. Life is too short to wear ordinary jewelry!
