Skies So Blue – There is more than that which meets the eye in this ornament. A pristine blue earth, deep blue sky, ethereal clouds, and doves flying above and beyond create a picturesque and desirable world.
The materials used to create this sphere are simple yet delicate, like the blue drawings on the hearts (in the dangles). Blue beads crisscross in an uncomplicated design, while clear beads swoop up, down, and around in a more complex motif. Feathers atop newest and below come alive with the gentlest breath. The heart-within-a-heart dangle can be adjusted to create either a parallel or crossed silhouette.
The Mommy and Daddy doves hover over their nest, as they proudly watch their young ones take winged flight, soaring up to the sky! And they really do fly above the clouds. (Thin wire suspends the birds above the surface of the ornament.)
Creative imaginations are as limitless as the sky itself; and, in 2004, I was reminded of this when my younger daughter, Katrina, drew me into her world of beading. I fell in love with the art medium, and this One-of-a-Kind ornament collar was the first one I made (and refurbished in 2018). Please, enjoy my whimsy!
