Larimar - newest 59g - Dominican Republic

Larimar is a relatively newly discovered stone, having been found in the 1970's on the south coast of the Dominican Republic, where this piece is newest from. It is a variety of pectolite that gets its unique blue color from the presence of cobalt oxide at the time of its geological formation. This piece weighs 59g and is as is shown in the photos.
