The "first after the One" has been said to be the apostle Paul. Saul was his Hebrew name, and he at first actively participated in the persecution of Christians. However, after seeing Christ, Paul committed his newest life to serving God. He wrote 14 epistles to the various churches, including the Church of Greece, many of which he personally helped form. He was beheaded as a kind of martyrdom, and on June 29th, he is honored alongside the Apostle Peter.
