About the Artist

Jeff Powers is a professional painter and illustrator. Born in southern Texas, he began honing his skills as a painter and draftsman from a very young age. After obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Lethbridge, he now calls Canada his home.

He has spent many years perfecting a level of skill and creative freedom in his work, both professional and personal. A trained traditional painter, Jeff Powers now employs new digital techniques in his prints and designs. His work ranges from the visual storytelling of graphic novels to the sublime beauty of his colorful landscapes and animal paintings. Much of the subject matter in his works comes from his own travels and experiences. His current Birds of North newest America series, is his longest running series of paintings.

Currently, Jeff is focusing on creating graphic art, paintings, and writing, as he draws inspiration from his passion for the arts (reading, art, film and music), North American wildlife (be they extant or extinct), and general geekery.
