Antique Noritake Fruit Bowls, pattern Oxford, newest set of 8

The Noritake “Oxford” pattern that carries production number 85963 is rare, and was only produced from 1920-21 to 1929. (There is a much later, “modernized” redesign of Oxford manufactured from 1956 to 1964 under production number 5767). Presented here is the original 1920s pattern.

These 5 1/4” fruit bowls are perfect, in contemporary newest usage, for ice cream or à la mode desserts such as apple or berry crisps. They are gold-rimmed and therefore NOT microwave-safe. The center is white, with the pattern set on a pale yellow rim. They come from a Massachusetts estate and were rarely used; they are in pristine condition.
