newest 1900s Vintage Chantilly Lace in 3 pieces
Unfinished Restoration project of Victorian blouse
Absolutely beautiful Chantilly lace likely from the late 1800s. Machine made. So delicate. Roses, leaves and vines. Color is a warm champagne.
The lace has rotted away in the underarm areas suggesting that it was once a blouse or top of a dress that was deconstructed for another project. (common practice in the turn of the 20th century) These areas can be replaced with the additional matching lace fabric included. The lace still feels fairly strong and is not brittle or tearing.
- Each 'side' is seamed in three parts: bodice, upper arm, cuff
- Pin tucks on shoulders, elbows, cuffs
- Bodice continuous over shoulders
- Straight edge in front
- Slight crossover in back
- 1/4" seam underarms
Content: unknown, possibly cotton or rayon
